My condolences to all the Thai people In Thailand and abroad. I always thought he was going to live to be over 100 like his mom. I really don't want to know what's going to happen next because not many people out there like his son but they love his daughter Phra Thep. Sunny
I was just about to post this. Sad news :( Somehow I felt like someone close to me passed away. This is so soon, one can never be ready for something like this. His illness was very bad. May he rest in peace and finally rest. I'm really down and sad to know this has happened, I knew someday it will come but, so sudden. No matter how much we know it

Thip
so I read that the mourning is set for one year. So does that mean The Prince won't be able to be King until then or how does the royal throne work in Thailand?
honda
I believe the Prince has already been appointed king but won't have the official crowning ceremony until after the grieving period. Misscindy
does the king have any role in Thailands government and military?
honda
Last I heard, Thailand is a constitutional monarchy, the king has power over the government but within the constitution rights.
