Those bags are more suited for Hollywood celebs who to them 100k bag is not a big deal, no need to show off. Sure she can afford it, but is she spending beyond her means? I think so. The thai stars are flashy. Even some hollywood celebs who are 20X more rich dont go off and buy a Birkin bag. David Bekham alone makes 50-75million a year, and Victoria I hear makes more than her hubby, so yes she can buy as many birkin bags as she wants just using the interest sitting in her bank account. At the same time that Victoria is buying these bags, the Beckhams are donating millions a year to charity. So those birkin bags Victoria are always sporting, is only a small percentage compared to what shes making in donations to make a difference. So this is what I mean they have money to burn. Most Thai stars make at most 6-7 digits USD. Birkin bags start at around 20k, and Min can probably afford 3, but there is no way she was able to buy 3 at one time because its impossible to get a store to sell you 3 at once. She wasnt being truthful in her post with all the Hermes boxes around her and let people assume those were all bags. Anyway I think this is a problem a lot of asians have. Most of show offs and most want to compete with each other, and most spend beyond their means. Like you see Asians on welfare, yet they all drive a luxury cars lol. And even those who dont want to spend beyond their means, they are pressured by their peers. I know of one lady who drives domestic car and her friend criticized her for not driving an imported car. The LV and Channel stores were impossible to enter because there were lines going out the store front!!! There were some serious buyers - each with mountains of purchases!!! I don't know that deep about Thailand import tax or duty but if the value of the goods you are importing is more than 80,000 baht you will need to pay custom duty and must declare it. Unless you want to risk after they scan your bags and than they escort you to the customs office lol. From Bangkok Post: All personal goods including new clothes, shoes and bags in non-commercial form exceeding the THB80,000 limit must be declared to customs officials and the duty paid before the baggage enters the X-ray machine. Any undeclared items will be seized, and owners may have to pay up to four times the value of the items plus duty. Even our alcohol allowance is one 1L bottle per person. In my head. Although I did have a lot of gift items in there already from Korea & Singapore but don't think it was over 80,000 baht lol. What Min does with her money is her business, but when she chooses to share it to the public thats when people will judge her. It is definitely a competition. They are high on status. I'm sure some people have the bags but they don't share it to the public knowing it might not look good on them. If Min wants no one to say anything she should not have posted anything. Once you invite the public into the conversation it's fair game. If they want to show it off then people are going to judge. She said Hermes bag is like a gold, will never drop in value and she can sell this bag back more if they are rare collection. The one she is showing they are rare and hard to find colors.
