As for Ch3, karma much. Remember Ch3 tried to rig the rules in their favor, that whole blackout drama, and their refusal to go digital in fear of losing their analog revenue. They only went digital after they had no choice. That profit loss of 495 million baht is not including the 1 billion baht they lost in promotion/investment of their digital channels.

Not only is Ch3 losing so much money on digital TV but Maleenont&Family also fell from top 10 in the forbes richest Thais list to #19 this year. Ch3 executives said they lost so much profit because of the TV changes and bad economy that they'll have to cut the salary of their employees. Their office workers will likely take the hit first.

Personally, I think it's bad judgment on Ch3 part to buy all 3 digital channels at once in an unforeseen market. Digital TV is still new so of course it won't start out well. Some digital channels are already considering to sell their channel b/c they didn't make profit. Experts project that digital TV will boom in the next 8 yrs but not now. These digital channels will have to hang in there if they want profits in the future.
