  1. I think regarding Anna and the King, the viewers should perceive the movie was made for entertainment purpose only, although after watching it one couldn't help to wonder whether it's true or not. In reality, maybe it's merely Anna's fascination to the culture she had never seen before and the fascination to the King himself.

I'd like to compare the movie to Anastasia animation-version. It was based on actual event but the story line and the ending were made up to suit society's expectation of happy ending. The reality about the Princess Anastasia still pains me whenever I read the story again

    On another note :

The citizens now can pay respect to the late King since the Grand Palace is now open to the public. People are currently queuing. And still hasn't heard about the construction of the funeral pyre or the ascension of Crown Prince.

If I'm not mistaken OneHd is on making tribute to King with utilizing most of its artists (spotted Pong,Aom, and Noon together all in one shot! I was so ecstatic). Some of Channel 3 actors and actresses go on with their shooting schedule. Channel 7 is also airing some lakorn with King as its center (?)

  2. After reading and trying to comprehend royal fam's family, The Chakrabongse is basically the line who 'preserves' halfies (luk kreung) blood in them.

Yep the massive amount of Rama V's children though! I literally gasped when the first time I read it. Thank heaven Rama IX didn't follow his footsteps to colonize women and made them as his wives. Although his son have shown the similar acts by having a handful number of children

  3. Thank you Ninja for confirming the news ^^

Yep Sunny, the first princess seems all around entertainer and crowd pleasure meanwhile the second one is the modest one, the representative and the spitting image of her father (I also think that she is the only one who resembles her father in terms of appearance and face). No wonder people want her to succeed the throne although that's a slim chance if there's none.

  4. That's why, its destiny for King Rama 9th, even though he was born so far from the crown, in the end the crown end up being his because the many people in line before him had other destiny.

Yep agree with you, at the end of the day, it's all down to luck and fate. Maybe a little intervention from human beings but all in all luck and fate had the biggest role on making King Bhumibol.

It's always been interesting to talk about the royals fam. Now that the father is gone, I wonder if the Crown Prince can be the pillar of the family especially on leading his sisters. The eldest princess, was seen out of the palace a couple days ago to thank the citizens. Lol I chuckled when she just walked away so easily and comfortably from the gate and greeted the people, not to mention her trendy shoes. Must be one of down-to-earth princesses. (Correct me if I'm wrong; but considering she lived almost half of her life as regular people back in US, she doesn't give the air of vanity)

And I almost forgot about Cherry! Now thay you mention it Sunny, she always had the total portrayal of a princess in my eyes. The calm and composed manner and less animated gesture in real life

  5. Geez all the theories above completely overlooked by me. I have never thought that King could have done such action. He never came across as someone who was that power-hungry and would have done insane thing just for the throne. But we never know what's behind the calm facade that he'd been displaying in front of the crowd. If all that theories are true, then it's as if the plot of some kind of movie.

  6. Hi everyone, thank you for the information that foreigner like me can't get my hands on. Just back watching the royal funeral procession of HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana and for the couple of few days, I have been reading all articles related to the procession. I wonder how lavish the funeral this time since this is the king himself that about to be cremated. It's fascinating and astonishing to witness such events. The palanquin or the place of the urn is gigantic and marvelous, even the urn itself, I'm at loss for words when I saw that. And how come they built the cremation structures (Pra Merumas) in short time and disintegrated it?confused12.gifclear.png

I'm so sorry if this is out of the topic but it's something that I have never encountered before and I am completely blown away by the way Thai monarch handles the funeral
