A little tutorial of how to make textures and use them in icons!

Posted Image

1. Making The Texture
You can find pictures from the internet, or even scan your own, which is what i did

Posted Image

2. Open up a new transparent page/doc 100x100

Posted Image

3. Drag the selected "100x100" onto your magazine article, anywhere that looks nice

Posted Image

4. Copy and paste the selection onto a new doc
Optional: You can colourise the image or leave it

Posted Image

You can make heaps of textures using the same image, save them and use them later on

5. Making An Icon
Open up an image you would like on your icon
Optional: You can colourise the image or leave it
Crop the image/Remove the background
Re-size the image

Posted Image

6. Drag the image onto your texture
Position your image
Add brushes/text
Merge everything together
To finish it off add a border and you're done!

Enjoy (:

Truth: You knew exactly what you had, you just thought you'd never lose it

OMG This is the same as me, yep half a decade, since we got to know each other *O_O* *umm* I just do whatever and never read or look at tutorials too and sometimes when it comes out nice, most of it is because of random luck, I've never had a banner that goes the way I want or planned, it always is something else that is still usable or nice enough *sc^*

I haven't done much art stuff for a long while I've lost all my touch and creations to do, most of what I've got are just simply an image that I just play around with the colour, lighting and effects *^lol* *hmm* I still admire those that can do it so dang well *muha*

Sometimes I wish I can do it so I can improve my websites that I've got but I can't really use a much better reason than plain old laziness *hihe*

Thanks for the tutorial *hihe*

^ just go to File --> New
a window should pop up asking you for dimension sizes etc..
there's 3 options for Background Contents , they are White, Background Color, & Transparent. Just click on the Transparent one.

if u need to see how to do it, i can do a lil tut.. but i doubt you'll need it :omg5:
