Burglars broke into a house of actress Yad-thip Rajpal in Bangkok's Taling Chan district and got away with valuables worth more than Bt2 million, police say.
The actress's father, Surin Samayol, 55, tells police he, his wife and two children were not at home during the crime.
Yadthip and her mother arrived at 9pm Monday to find the home broken in to and bedrooms ransacked. Valuables worth more than Bt2 million are missing.
Surin tells police this is the second break-in in 12 months. Earlier a handbag was taken. After that the family installed an alarm.
However, it did not work on Monday night. It is either broken or the family forgot to activate it.
Police suspect the burglary is the work of about three people and was committed by those who know the house and the family's routine.
Police have learned a motorcycle was seen passing the house several times. They have interviewed a housekeeper and her motorcycle-taxi-rider husband.
Police are checking pawnshops for the stolen items, most of which belong to Yadthip.

that sucks...but that's the risk of not takin it to the bank!
there was a family that we knew...the old man put money in a bag and BURIED it in the back yard anytime he had some saved b/c he didn't want to put it in the bank (paranoia)...and when he died (about 20-30 yrs later), he left kinda like a "map" for his kids/grandkids..
yeaaaaaaaah...they found it all right.
about $30,000 all molded and NOT a single dollar was usable.
talk about bad luck eh?
