they definitely overdid themselves but i guess every city has a chance to be proud. it's funny how they had to shut down factories and limit cars bc of the horrible pollution over there.

no comment yet on the political aspect as i not yet read much on it.

I think they over did. Anyway Chinese is heavenly proud that they're hosting the Olympics this year. You know how they prosperous so much or so they think. So with this Olympic it will definitely put them out as in gaining more interest to their country. They have cost a lot of trouble before the Olympic begins, politically wise. There were rumor that it was going to be cancel but I guess that would just be rumor since it already started.

The show was spectacular and so much fun to watch. I love the opening show, it's amazing. I can't believe the people that coordinate the whole thing. All the details and lights and performers..really cool.

and it was nice to see how loud the cheers they got from the crowd.. i could barely hear the cheer for the french.. but totally understandable on that part.. you know despite it all, i have to say that the chinese were pretty good host by giving a warm welcome to all the athletes when they paraded in..

anyways as for that rumor of them canceling.. i never once believe that they would cancel because 1. the olympic committee wont allow politics and sport to mix or else they would never allow the chinese to win the 08 hosting in the first place.. and 2. china invested 7 years and 100 million dollars in this, no way in heck will they allow it to be cancel...

It's the Olympics so it needs to be over done. It is a long tradition. I was so proud to see the American athletes. I liked their outfits, although I think the women should of worn something more feminine not an outfit like the men. I liked the hats and blazers a lot. They all looked good.

I hope the athletes don't get sick from all the pollution as well. My uncle went to China last month for a week and was so happy to get back to America. He said the pollution was absolutely horrible!
