Part 3:
A week later upon arriving in San Francisco:
“Ahh,” Maurice exhaled exhausted as he slumped down on the couch. “It’s a good thing that Twin Corp didn’t have a problem with us wanting to change hotel.”
“Yeah, I think I wouldn’t be able to breathe if we stayed near Thai Town,” Oil agreed.
Maurice nodded. “I didn’t think we were going to get swamped like that, especially our first step on US grounds.”
“You tell me. I didn’t know I was this popular here,” Oil said a little stunned, yet pleased.
“Uh huh,” Maurice was quick to agree to that. “Well I’m going to put away my things and take a nice long bath. You should do the same. We have a lunch meeting with Twin Corp around 1 PM.”
“What? You’re not going to put my things away for me?” Oil teased.
“Get a maid!” Maurice rolled his eyes at him and shut the door behind.
Oil let out a chuckle, grabbed his suitcase and rolled it into his room.

“Shoot! Excuse me, coming through, sorry, coming through,” Aum ran thru the lobby. Just out of no where a little boy cut in front of her. “Holy Shit!” she shrieked and swayed to avoid knocking him down.
“Whoa!” she heard a male voice holler. Then instantly, *Thud*, she ran into a body, bounced off it, and landed hard into the floor.
“Watch out!” the guy grunted as she gathered her things, standing up. “What you problem?” he said in broken English.
“Oil, what happened?” A dark male with too much lip balm on asked him in Thai.
“This klutzy girl here just ran into me. She must be blind or something not to see me,” he replied to his friend.
Aum grinded her teeth at his comment. Sure she was at fault for running into him but she didn’t do it on purpose.
“You’re ok right,” the dark male asked. His friend nodded, giving Aum a nasty glare as he did. Then he turned to Aum. “You ok?” he said.
“I’m fine,” Aum replied back in Thai.
“You’re Thai?” the dark male questioned stunned.
“A 100%,” Aum answered. Then she looked at his friend. “I was going to apologize but now I change my mind. You’re lucky I don’t punch you in the face instead.” She shoved her way thru him. “Oh,” she turned around, “Next time if you’re going to talk shit about someone in a different language make sure they don’t understand that language because you’re only making a fool of yourself.” She started to walk away but then turned around again. “And you should teach your boyfriend some manners. You know people like him don’t survive long here in San Fran.” With that she flicked her curly hair and hurried thru the doors.
“Well,” Maurice turned to Oil with his hands on his hips. “What do you have to say about that?”
Oil gave him an annoyed look. “I don’t have time for stupid people,” he said and started to walk off.
“Hey where are you going?” Maurice called after him.
“Find me something to drink,” Oil said without turning around.
“Wait for me,” Maurice ran after him.

“Hey, what took you so long?” Jenny, Aum’s co-worker, asked the minute she walked into the room.
“Long story,” Aum replied as she pulled out her uniform and began changing.
“Thanks for covering for me though. I really appreciate it.” Jenny said.
“No problem, I can use a little extra hour anyway,” Aum told her.
“I’ll see you later then.” Jenny said.
“Ok, have a nice time with your son,” Aum waved as she shut her locker. Then she quickly pin her curls up and rush out to the counter.
“Hey you came in after all,” John, the other associate greeted her.
“Yeah,” Aum smiled. “And it’s been crazy already.” She started to say when her manager signaled her over. “I’ll be right back.” She said to John.
“This is Patcharapa Chaichue.” Peter, her manager introduced her when she got there. “Patcharapa, I like you to meet Miss Sara Buagnarm and Mr. Mick Chaiyah from Twin Corp. They’re looking for someone to look after their client staying here at our hotel.”
“Actually, he’s a Thai celebrity. He and his manager’s English are not as fluent,” Sara explained. “And with so much going on, we don’t have time to take care of them ourselves. And since he’s staying here we thought it would be best to find someone here instead.”
“I thought this would be a great opportunity for you.” Peter winked.
“But I don’t know how to be a take care of a celebrity. I’m just the front desk clerk,” Aum protested.
“We agreed to pay you extra for the job,” Mick offered.
“So what do you say?” Sara asked.
Aum thought about it for awhile. She did need the extra money. Living in San Francisco is so expensive let alone she needed to pay off her student loan. “I’ll give it a try but no guaranteed I’ll be a good guide,” she uttered.
“You’ll be great at it” Peter assured her.
“Thank you so much,” Sara said. “We really appreciate it.” Aum just smiled.
“We should get going then,” Mick looked at the time.
“Where are we going?” Aum asked confused.
“We have an appointment with them around noon,” Sara explained. Aum nodded her and followed them to the hotel restaurant.
“Great, you guys are here,” Mick said with a handshake to each. “Remember the guide/caretaker we told you about? Well, here she is. Miss Patcharapa Chaichue, I like to you me Mr. Oil Thana and Maurice, his manager. He’s a very popular Actor and Singer in Thailand.”
To Aum’s horror, it was couple she confronted earlier. Her mouth parted in shock, unable to say a word.
“You,” Oil said thru his teeth.
“Uh…,” Maurice had to pat him down. “Nice to meet you again,” Maurice said to Aum.
She swallowed the lump in her throat down slowly. “Pleasure is mine,” she replied trying hard to keep her voice steady. Oil rolled his eyes at her comment.
“Are we missing something here?” Sara questioned.
“Oh, it’s nothing,” Maurice smiled.
“Ok…” Mick said, “Why don’t we get something in our stomach while we go over the week's plan then.”
Aum reluctantly nodded and sat down with the group. She flashed a disgusted grin at Oil.
‘Whatever hot shot!’ she thought to herself.
