Someone in Britain is a lot richer after claiming the country's biggest ever lottery win - 35,425,411.80 pounds ($A84.9 million).

The winner matched all five main numbers and both lucky star numbers, 23, 40, 42, 43, 49, plus 2 and 6, to claim the entire EuroMillions jackpot from the August 10 draw.

Camelot, which operates the British arm of the trans-European lottery, said the lucky ticket holder had now come forward and the prize had been paid out.

"It is the largest jackpot won by a British person," a spokesman said. Camelot said no further details would be given out unless the person agreed to publicity.

The amount dwarfs the previous biggest British EuroMillions win by Marion Richardson, from Gateshead, northeast England, who netted 16.8 million pounds ($A40.26 million) in April 2004.

The largest jackpot the game produced was 126 million pounds ($A301.98 million), shared between two winners from France and one from Portugal in February last year.

The previous biggest-ever non-rollover lottery win in Britain went to Paul Maddison and Mark Gardiner in June 1995 when they scooped 22.5 million pounds ($A53.92 million) on the Lotto game.

hey, there's a new show here in the states, call something like POWER OF 10 .. all you have to do is answer 10 question correctly or close to the common sense number, if you got them all right, or something like that you .. you'll win 10 MILLIONS .. there's this 19 years guy that one that millions of dollars. he became the youngest tv guy to win over this much. so jealous..i wanna go to that show too ..Lol

^haha, or the gas station that i go to, i keep looking at that number grow, someday it's 75, 000 ..someday it's over 100, 000 and some day, it's at 10, 000, but i envy those ppl .. it almost make me want to b one of those lottery ticket, but i tell myself to not do it b/c i'm afraid that i'll be addict to it and might grow poor later ..LOL
