Old lakorns being remade aren't anything new. However it seems that it's brewing up once again.
Heaviest is Channel 3 that is having a hit remaking old lakorns.
Opened already are "Jum Leuy Ruk" which Channel 7 had already remade twice, but this version has Aum Atichart & Eve Taksaorn.
The same with "Preuksa Sawad" that brings Nok Chatchai to meet 2 Fons, "Fon Yai" Kullanat and "Fon Lek" Patcharin.
"Mae Krua Kohn Mai" which used to be a hit Channel 9 lakorn has Pat Napapa & Nat Nattarat.
"Hoob Kao Gin Kohn" is filming led by Off Pongpat.
And for the one that just opened filming "Pbee Kaew Nang Hong" this used to be a big movie, the lakorn version stars Num Sornram & Ae Isariya.
Those that are ready to open production are "Sawan Biang" and "Nampeung Kom"
Two other lakorns that Channel 3 have bought the copyrights to and are ready to remake are "Badal Jai" (originally Sam Yuranan & Yui Patamawan) and "Sai See Plerng"
Channel 7 can't beat Channel 3 in bringing remakes back to the screen.
Dung Duang Hareutai starring Veer and Kwan replacing the Num & Nat version.
Tookta Rerng Rabum rumored to have paired up Oil Thana & Pinky Sawika, but we're waiting confirmation on that.
Satree Tee Loke Leum with Noon Woranuch, was once a popular movie.
The good part of remaking old lakorns is that they must have been exciting and fun, otherwise they wouldn't remake it. The bad is that it will be compared to the old one. But if the old version wasn't as popular, then the comparing would lessen a bit.
I'm wondering who Channel 3 will cast in Sai See Plerng bc Mew did too good a job, I dunno who would be able to measure up.
