*^lol* wow if this is the result of shootings then it's sad. I think asians in general now will be looked at differently
They say: You don't know what you've got until it's gone

Truth: You knew exactly what you had, you just thought you'd never lose it

middle easterners were looked at differently after 9/11, most like they'll look at us differently too. Hopefully this does not continue. Wonder if it'll continue if the shooter was a white guy instead of an asian person.

man! this is just so mess up! just because of what happen at the shootings of Virginia Tech, doesn't mean they have to hate on us asian. i mean if one of their white peoeple went and killed the whole school, they wouldn't do a damn thing. but if your asian went and killed the whole school, they would be hatening on us. where is the justice in this world?

i think it's at great fault of the media. the only adjective that they found for Cho was "South Korean." every single news screen and headline described him first as being Korean. No wonder there is backlash... when those white kids shot up colombine, they didn't note their ethnicity in conjunction with their names in every caption and broadcast... makes me so mad!

That is true too. Asians, specifically Koreans, are viewed differently nowadays. It's just like how some Vietnam War Veterans hate Vietnamese people. Yes the media does have a lot to do with this stereotype but I think that if I lived in Virginia and there is a shooting at my school by a minority then I will be terrified of all of them too. it's just that as Americans we are swayed easily and of course in the end, whites will always rule. And as someone mentioned before minority will always be minority. We can sense it in the classroom, in stores and other public facilities.

I totally agree with you, that what i told my sister, when it white, it just mention the name but not much of the ethnicity but it come to again it point it out like a zillion time. ;)
