“Unwanted Bride”

• It was a reality that she never expected, after graduating with a B.A from Bangkok University, she was forced to get marry. She never once saw the man’s face, yet she thought what kind of man would want to marry if he has never seen the soon to be bride’s face. But after knowing the reasons why her parents had put her in that situation, she decided to bear with it. Living for someone else is something to repay their debt. On the other side, the soon to be groom is furious with the arrangement his parents had made for him. “What kind of woman will accept this proposal, she must be a gold digger!” he yells out to his mother who quickly slaps him across the face. “Someday, you will know,” she said quietly and walks away. When both bride and groom settled down, all she could do was enduring the horrible things he says to her and accept all the punishments but she holds her pride. “Have you ever thought what kind of bride you came to be?” he asked her.

Chapter One
She looks out the window and gave out a heavy sigh. She believes that everything that was happening was real, it was her decision and she wanted to be proud of it. She looks around the room, it was spacious and wealthy. She and her parents don’t have all that anymore she reminds herself. “Aree,” someone called. She turns to look and it was her mother standing at the door giving her a bright smile. “Ma,” Aree called back as if she almost burst into tears. “You look beautiful sweetie,” her mother said and gave her a hug. They both walk towards the mirror and stood in front of it. “Gorgeous honey,” her mother said as she pats Aree’s shoulder gently.
As her mother pats her gently, her mother can feel the goose bumps on her daughter’s shoulders. Her mother knew that Aree was worried and definitely afraid of what may happen in a few moments. Her mother wishes she can stop the time and freeze the time. To not having to let her daughter go. “I’m sorry, honey,” her mother said to herself. Aree stood in front of the mirror that any minute now, she will be walking down the stairs to meet her soon to be husband. Aree’s isn’t sure how to reacts, she isn’t sure how he will react when he sees her for the first time.
“Khun Aree, they are expecting you,” a maid said.
Both Aree and her mother took another look at each other with a sigh and exited the room.
Music were being played, violinist and pianist seated below and playing for the crowd to listen. Aree can feel chills all over her body as she watch what stood in front of her. “Ladies and gentlemen, lets please use this time to welcome the bride,” the host said and the music began to play. Aree slowly made her way to the stairs and look at everyone who stood there looking at her. Slowly climbing down the stairs, she finally spot the groom, at the end of the stairs waiting for her. Thoughts were through her head, “He is not old.” She can see his eyes glaring at her in ways she can’t explain hatred or amazed.
The groom stood at the end of the stairs and slowly studies his soon to be wife. The images he thought she may be like was completely far off from his judgments. When she finally reaches his presence, he sticks out his arm, offering his guidance to her, she accepts with a warm smile and followed by his side. Everyone’s gaze were on the bride and groom, their whispers about the bride and everyone loved her dress.

His mind was racing while all the friends and families stood around them. He put on a smile for everyone and continue walking till they reach the reverand. Aree could feel her legs trembling. She was scared and worried. She believes that without the support of her soon to be husband, she would have fallen down.

End of flashback

Aree stood out the front door waiting for her husband to arrive home, her memories fades away as his car pulls up front of the house. He sees her and shot her an evil glare with a smile. She couldn't help but feel afraid, it has already a week since they tied the knot, she had never once felt comfort around him. Aree was afraid that he can hurt her anytime. Her husband walks out of the car and walk towards his wife. "Waiting for me," he asked. "As usual," she replied. "khun Rome," she called silently.

"What is it?" he asked impatiently. "What would you like for dinner?" she asked shyly. He smirked at her and walks past her. "Cook me anything that is good," he said and climbs the stairs to his room.
