Osama bin Laden dead

Osama bin Laden is dead and his body has been recovered by U.S. authorities, U.S. officials said on Sunday.

U.S. President Barack Obama was to make the dramatic announcement shortly in a hastily called, late-night appearance at the White House.

As they waited for the contents of his statement, multiple news organizations reported sources in the White House had confirmed bin Laden's death almost a decade after the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon.

It's not like it's good to wish upon someone's death. But at least it brought some closure to the victim's family.

The world will not be safer after his death but it brought some kind of justice. War is never justifiable either but SIGH don't know. LOL

Thanks for the news Lalita. I heard it here at Spicy first, then I went to check out the reports.

I agree with shampoo, it's not good to wish someone's death, but there was never a possibility that they could bring him in to face justice at the Hague or any court. I don't believe they would ever capture him alive because of his security personnel. I don't think the war is over, this is just the beginning of eradicating Al-Qaeda. Their spirits would be down right now but as the US has taken custody of his body, they will also incensed because the Islamic custom is to bury the body ASAP after death. I think there will be retaliation.

I don't know. I think the US already talked with the Pakistan leader. NOt sure what they're going to do with the body but the US has custody of the body.

lol Aikoden, I don't think they will exactly disclosed how they got found him. But Obama had lead to where Osama was hiding for months and they just took action last week since they believed to have enough evidence where he was hiding. They found him and killed him. We have custody of his body. DNA proven, I think.

yeah man. Mai and me were talking about it at the same time. I told her something about national security and thought we might get nuke. then she told me it was about Osama. I wasn't watching tv... she was. I think they both saw the news at the same time.
