What's happening in Wisconsin?

http://motherjones.com/mojo/2011/02/whats-...onsin-explained

It has been going on for a week now. It's quite upsetting that Governor Walker wanted to pass this stupid bill in a matter of week without wanting to negotiate with the Union because he knows that it will get bad. How could he just take away people's right? I'm sure the 2% riches supported Governor Walker but Wisconsin has always been a union state. The Republican has always wanted to rid of the Union. They're all about class.

They blamed teachers for everything.

Wisconsin has a long history and we would like to keep that history. Without Unions, bargaining wage would be out of the door and corporate would do whatever they want. They would pay whatever they want to employees.

Governor Walker said Wisconsin is in a 140 million deficit but the truth was we had a 120 Million surplus before Walker distributed those money to corporate interest and blamed teachers.

Sure, teachers get pay by these big corporates' tax but it isn't like teachers don't pay taxes either. SIGH

I understand Walker wants to balance budget but..... so much more things going on.

I read some comments like "as an employee, you can't negotiate how much your employer pay you. they could pay whatever you want." "kids these days are just getting dumber and dumber because of teachers." "This is what people voted Walker to do, so Unions back off." ETC.

BTW, this is one of the hugest protest in Wisconsin ever since the Vietnam War. That long.

I don't know what's going on in Wisconsin but in other states, people are just fed up with unions. They've gotten so greedy and the unions pensions are bankrupting a lot of states, i.e california... As for the teacher's unions, i think they need to restructure it. It's ridiculous that you're job is saved just because of seniority.. i mean you see it all the time in classrooms where some of these long teacher teachers are just getting worst and worst... then you have these teachers that are accused of molestation but yet not getting fired, instead they are sent to the rubber room and continues to get paid.

Unions have some scandalous dealings too, they're not all innocent or good for the american people anymore. Back when they started yes, now? Not so much.
from Nutwara's ig hahah

What I think is that they all do need reconstruction. I think that they need to negotiate stuff no matter how they dislike each other.

I think we do need to balance our money but just to wipe out everything like that is ridiculous and how is some job's union is saved but not others.
