It's another fun year for our lakorn entertainment world for this 2010 year.
Starting from Channel 3, let's say they are quite noisy this year because they was able to obtain popular pra'ek from Channel 7 Por Nattawut. Before a final process of the contract, there were many news regarding his moving channel. A lot of people pay attention to it and it dragged for so many months.
In the lakorn area, Channel 3 still emphasize on their stars which was such an overflowing screen and looks like this year is their golden year. It was due to the fact they took the number 1 to 3 spot on ABAC Survery Poll 2010 in the lakorn category... from Tara Hamalaya, Wanida and to 365 Wan Haeng Ruk.
Come Channel 5, most of their lakorn are made by Scenario and the most talked lakorn was Malai Sam Chai which took number 4 on the ABAC poll.
As for the most buzzing news for lakorn is from the Boss of Channel 5 Polto Chatchai Sariklob who came out to announced that they will be more careful next year. They will reduce the namnao and fighting type of lakorn including taking a careful look at portraying out transgender.
As for Channel 7, this year is full of bad news, losing Por Nattawut to Channel 3 including tarnishing news about their stars like Vier Sukollawat being drunk. Tangmo having problems with the medias and about Pinky's scandalous news being a third party that the channel even came out to announced they won't be extending her contract which was about to end. There is also accidents that happened at the lakorn set like Kratip Chawankorn from the lakorn Khun Por Waan Wiew and Tuptim Anyarin from Khun Chai Tum Raberd.
Even though their news aren't so good, lakorn is not that exciting but Channel 7 is still Channel 7 who still quietly eating. They already have big market out of town, that's why it's not a surprised thing that lakorn like Nak Su Pun Kao Niew and even Khun Chai Tum Raberd is still well received, especially the later one unexpectedly came in multidimensional.
Let's go on to Modern Nine who has different marketing strategy from Channel 3, 5, and 7. They usually aired out of countries drama and even tried to have a collaboration with Korea for a series. Looks like it didn't create much sensation. It was kind of quiet. The only people following is probably their personal fans.
However everything is, the one news that is quite interesting is how Thai lakorn has made its popularity all the way to China. It made all the Chinese girls and boys infatuated with Thai stars.
We'll just have to follow and see how far Thai dramas will go to the country of the Dragon.
*I omitted some parts, it's about uninteresting news.*
