Actually Thai lakorns have been officially imported to be aired in China for several years, dubbed in Mandarin. I think the first one is "Luerd Kattiya", and followed by "Hua Jai Chocolate", "Song Kram Nang Fah", "Kaew Lom Phet", etc. And now is "Jaew Jai Rai Gub Khun Chai Tevada".

Now even some stars are invited to China to promote their lakorns, like Pong has been there twice, the recent on is 5 Nov in Shenzhen, with Bee and Pang. Here's the news link:

Heard that Umm Artichart will also visit Shanghai on 23 Nov, for some fashion brand event. Anyone know the details? A friend in Shanghai wanna see him in person, :(

EXACT was the first production company. I remember when LK was in the news there. Grammy does some stuff too. Chin, Golf/Mike, all have a Chinese album in Chinese-Mandrin. Please correct me if I got any info wrong. *het*

I believe those lakorn are quite popular too. I hope your friend get to see/meet Atichart.

wow just got the news that Paul will meet fans @ a Starbucks in Shanghai this Friday, 11am.
He announced @ his Facebook days ago that he will go to Shanghai for one week. And his Chinese fans contacted his fan club to arrange for the meeting. Glad for them.

ThaiRath got a news covered Pong, Bee Namthip and Pang Ornjira visit in China. Basically it talks about how the 3 got astonished about so many fans there, the place is crowded of fans screaming and they were busy with autograph and photo-taking, like real "superstars", lol. And ThaiRath joked that K-pop got the fever in Thailand, now Thailand stars find the same in "country of dragon"!

and Umm Atichart will be in Shanghai for the promotion of "ZEN" shopping center in Shenyang, China (Pancake and Nichkhun went to the grand opening in Shenyang recently). Umm will also have a fans meeting in Shanghai this time.

Not sure about that cuz Ch3 is not quite active in promoting overseas market.
So far there have been Exact and Ch7 that sold some lakorns to Chinese TV channels. For Ch3 ones, most Chinese fans got to watch it online. But personally I don't quite like those "Chinese version". They not only dubbed the lakorn, but also cut some "improper" scenes, and they even changed the names of the roles, etc. The recent "Jaew Jai Rai Gub Khun Chai Taewada" was totally changed into a Korean TV drama-like thing, which annoyed many fans.

Yes I noticed that a lot of Chinese fans are active in twitter because they are following their favorite Thai celebs. I know Pong, Bee, Paula and etc have a lot of Chinese followers. Yes mostly channel 7 and Exact actors have a lot of Chinese fans. I saw that Om akapan have his own fanclub page made by his Chinese fans. I hope channel 3 starts to promote their actors too.

Just read on several press that Pong said some Chinese TV channels had invited him to act in their TV drama, but he needs to consult Exact first.

hmmm that will be interesting. The last time that a Thai star worked in a Chinese TV drama I guess was "Split Seconds" from TVB (Hong Kong)?
