wow such controversy in here ja.

everyone preaches freedom of speech but does anyone really take responsibility for the actions that result from it? thailand is very corrupt along with a lot of other countries at that. I mean think about it, someone can get arrested for insulting the king but not much is being done to people who are in the human sex trafficking ring? How hypocritical is that?

freedom of speech all you want, unless you take responsibilities for your actions, you don't deserve to wave around that banner.

I deeply love the King and that clips was just disrespectful and I'm deeply digusted by it.

However about the Swiss man, I think it was too much, I don't agree on him going to jail for 10 years, I think a couple would have been enough and get him to serve and do stuff in the country like help elders and go around doing things instead of being in jail not doing much *drools*

I'm wondering if the ban on youtube is over yet since they already caught the culprit.

this is so stupid though... out of the millions of youtube videos, there are 7 mocking the king....pretty good odds. i mean, it would be better if there were none, but i bet you 100 bucks that there are far more making fun of the queen of england. if you are in a position of prominence, you have to expect to be parodied and criticized. besides, what good is a king that cannot take a few insults? i think the king is great (of course!!!!!), but he should make an example of tolerance and forgiveness. the government has made a much bigger deal out of this than it ever would have been if they just quietly asked that guy to take it down. the new videos making fun of him are probably in direct result of the ban. it is ridiculous to ban your people from seeing a video, especially since every thai person loves him and he knows that. is he scared that other people will feel the same? i don't want to offend people, but when i go home this summer i need my youtube!! lol

thai can still see mthai, youdumv, sanook/kapook/etc... music station, google vdo, msn vdo, and things like that, so it's not that bad.... just not as much variety or as convenient.

in internet, it is almost impossible to stop ppl expressing their views and their lies. cos they most likely will not get caught and they need not show thier face

No it's not banned anymore, it has been unbanned for a long while, I remember my friend made this huuuge happy post in her LiveJournal that she could access Youtube again na *ha-ha* It was funny
I'd go back and find the exact date for you/the "IT'S BAA-AACK" picture she photoshopped for the occasion, but I'm lazy..
But yes, it has been unbanned since~
