here's a short summary from the book

Lilly, the daughter of a powerful godfather is forced to marry a man she was engaged to since they were young, so the only thing for her to do was escape. She wanted time to find the man of her dreams and decided to fly to Thailand. She met a police officer who was out of work who helped her flee from father's henchmen. She was so enamored by him she hired him to be her personal bodyguard. For Lilly it was a thrilling adventure but for the police officer is was a horrible headache.
